Even as a child, I dreamed of the rainforest.

I still remember telling adults that one day I wanted to protect nature. Whenever someone asked what I wanted to become, that was always my answer. I was so young that I don't even know where the idea came from. Somehow, the rainforest had already found me.

 

Years later, I finally traveled to Peru. What I expected to be a journey became something entirely different. The Amazon challenged me in every possible way. It was beautiful, overwhelming, frightening, and unforgettable. I found myself swimming through flooded forests near Iquitos, falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle, and discovering a world that changed the way I looked at life forever.

 

I fell in love with the rainforest. Not only with its extraordinary plants, but with its people, its quiet wisdom, and the feeling that nature is still alive in a way that many places have forgotten.

 

Today, protecting that living rainforest has become part of my life's work. Ecstatic Silence was born from that commitment.
